Mortgage Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:


Calling on your knowledge of mortgage financing and sales experience, you will develop a sales/territory plan for prospects and referral business opportunities. You will be responsible to promote and maximize the development and growth of residential mortgage business by operation as a separate business channel and attracting and generating new business from alternate sources outside the branch network. You will also use your market development, negotiating and customer service skills to build and maintain a network of relationships in the realtor community i.e. Builders, Realtors, Brokers, Lawyers, Financial Planners etc...


Our Domestic Banking division provides a comprehensive range of banking and investment services to almost 7 million retail, wealth management, small business and commercial customers across Canada. Our multi-channel domestic delivery network includes more than 970 branches, close to 2,750 ABMs, Internet, telephone and wireless banking.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • You have extensive sales and marketing experience.

  • You are a proven business developer in a mobile work environment.

  • You possess excellent mortgage underwriting and relationship-building skills, and are adept at negotiating.

About Mortgage:

The goal of Scotiabank’s National Mortgage Sales is to establish a leading market position through real estate professionals referrals to acquire new customer leads that can be converted into broader relationships for the Bank. You are a member of an elite proprietary National Mortgage Sales force of highly trained, entrepreneurial Mortgage Specialists that are experts in home ownership solutions and strategically located and with Key Partners to support the branch network.

We value your referral sources and offer you a dedicated Sales Management Support team including a District Sales Manager and Regional Director to help you succeed. As a Trusted Mortgage Advisor (Mortgage Development Manager), you will source residential mortgages by building strong relationships, network with third party referral sources such as Realtors, Builders, Lawyers and Financial Planners, and conduct business development activities such as local mortgage seminars and attend industry related functions.

By applying the sales cycle technique, you will demonstrate proven sales and service skills and creatively package homeownership solutions to meet the needs of homeowners. Your extensive sales and business development experience will enable you to operate in a mobile work environment and flourish in your career.
